Cricket Score: Rains dampens the start, but not for long

Cricket live score from the fields is that due to light showers India vs New Zealand is yet to take off on the third day of the first test match being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, on Saturday. Rain plays a spoil sport in the morning. New Zealand are waiting in their docks to carry on their innings from the overnight score of 106/5. the only batsman who defied the home teams spinners wrath was Kane Williamson, who scored 32 runs. The rest were ornamental. Indian spin duo Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha were at their best yesterday and gave tormenting time to the Kiwis with a 3/30 and 2/35 respectively. The Kiwis were trailing behind the home team by 332 runs.

Earlier on India carried on its legacy after a Thursday overnight score of  307/5. Pujara who was in meticulous form posted a mammoth score of 159 runs before falling flat for a delivery by Jeetan Patel and his partner Dhoni met the same fate after scoring 73 runs. On the whole the Indians posted 438 before retiring for the day. Kiwis bowler shared the twilight by grabbing 4/100 on the second day.

It was the spinners day out on Friday with the Indian duo ruining the chances of the visiting Kiwis and wrecking them totally. The visitors need a miracle to get out of this situation at the moment.

Though the sun is returning to shine, the outfield is wet and needs sometime to dry as per the pitch commentator Ravi Shastri. And play might resume in 45 minutes or so. The super roller-suckers are out and getting the water off the ground, at the moment. For more updates lets meet in the post lunch session. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
