T20 Champions league 2012, pack up to South Africa

South Africa is the host to the T20 Champions league 2012 that is sponsored by Karbonn Mobiles. Venues in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Centurion and Durban wore a festive look. Teams from the cash strapped Indian premier League are to go the tourney. As per the tradition the top four teams shall be present in South Africa. The other teams would be two finalists of the 2011-12 Big Bash League and 2011-12 MiWay T20 Challenge

All the eight teams would be made into two groups of four teams each, and as usual shall play against each other. Four winning teams from the two groups will clash for the semis and then the victorious two will clash for the title. The prize amount is whopping whether you win or loss. Initially each team will be paid a participation fee of USD 500, 000. In addition each team eliminated in the group stage will get USD 200,000. The two semi finalists who lost will get  USD 500,000, each. The runners up will get a grand USD 1.3 Mn while the winners will get a mega USD 2.5 Mn. Sounds great and interesting.

The top four teams that are to go to the T20 Champions league 2012 would be Gautam Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders, Virender Sehwag led Delhi Dare devils, Harbhajan Singh led Mumbai Indians and M S Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings. The other four teams would be Perth Scorchers, Titans, Sydney Sixers and Highveld Lions.

The tournaments shall be stretched from October 09 -28. our matches shall commence from 13 October. The semis shall be on 25 and 26 while the finals would be on 28. The eight teams receiving direct entry are all from India, Australia and South Africa.
