Sachin equals Gavaskar in FC cricket

Sunny Gavaskar can no longer be as proud as he was with his unparalleled record of 81 First Class Centuries after the Little Master and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, after his shocking exit from the One Day Cricket, drew level with him scoring his 81st first class century.

Scoring the century off his pads as he thrashed his former team mate from India, Sreesanth for a couple he later scored a boundary driving the ball carefully as he landed at another milestone of 25,000 first class runs. What a day for the master blaster; not like he cares about the records anymore.

I have always wanted to ask Sachin, "are you ever fed up of the achievements? They keep piling up one after the other."

The home fans were most pleased as Sachin charioted Mumbai against Rest of India who already had an impressive 526 on their boards. The last time he scored a century in the Irani Cup was 23 years ago against Delhi when he was just 16.

With Tendulkar in good form for the long format of the game, India can expect some great matches in the test series against Australia starting February 22.
