Emraan Hashmi is likely to act in a biopic on former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. According to reports the producers of the movie have finalised Hashmi to play the lead role.

Reports that Hashmi has been cast in the film has been doing the rounds for some time now. Apparently, Azharuddin has also given the green signal for the movie. The film is being directed by Kunal Deshmukh, who had worked with Hashmi on other movies as well. Earlier Emraan Hashmi and Deshmukh had worked together in 'Jannat' where the actor played the role of a bookie.

The former captain of Indian cricket team had to give-up on his career due to match fixing.
