The Associated Press [AP] and other international news agencies are likely to boycott the seventh edition of Indian Premiere League [IPL] as the IPL organizers have barred photographic agencies. In view of these restrictions, Reuters, Agence France Presse [AFP] and Associated Press will not be sending any reporters or photographers to the tournament.
However, the IPL organizers said they would send selected photographs to the media through mail. The New Media Coalition is working on the issue with IPL and said such reputed and world-class new agencies should be allowed to maker cricket a global sport.
International media has not covered the last three editions of the IPL as well as tours to India by Australia and England because of similar restrictions.
