Russia's Maria Sharapova reached the semi-finals of French Open crashing Spaniard Garbine Muguruza in the quarterfinals with 1-6, 7-5, 6-1.
The seventh seed was almost in the verge of a humiliating defeat but Sharapova pulled her shoe at the right time. Down in the first set with 1-6, Muguruza was also leading the second set with 5-4 and just when Sharapova realized her mistakes, she won three points back-to-back and claimed the set.
Then the former world number one did not leave any stone to Muguruza and won the third set comfortably with 6-1. Sharapova will be meeting 20 year old Canadian Eugenie Bouchard for Final berth which is scheduled on Saturday.
