‘Ankusam’ fame Rami reddy is dead

rama-reddyWell known Tollywood actor Rami Reddy, who made debut with Dr Rajasekhar’s hit film ‘Ankusam’ in 1989 in a villainous role, died of kidney failure today at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Secunderabad.

He was undergoing treatment at the KIMS hospital for kidney problems for the last few days but his condition became very serious this afternoon. Doctors’ strenuous efforts to save his life ended in failure and he breathed his last.

After getting fame as a villain through his ‘Ankusam’, he acted in more than 250 films in villainous roles in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada movies.

Osei Raamulamma, Anaganagaa Oka Roju, Ammoru, Peddarikam, Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari are some of the Tollywood movies that brought him widespread name as villain. He also enacted the role of villain in the Hindi remake version of the hit movie ‘Ankusam’.

Rami reddy, who did his post graduate in journalism from the OU, worked as journalist for Urdu and Hindi papers.
