Demanding higher wages from the film production houses, the AP Film Employees’ Federation today decided to observe bandh from tomorrow. It called upon its members to stop work in all departments of film production with effect from tomorrow.
The office bearers of the Federation went to the Film Producers’ Council office in Hyderabad this afternoon and served the bandh notices to the council.
The office bearers said they have been demanding pay hike for a long time but no one from the production houses responded to their demands. “We are forced to go on strike,” they said.
Meanwhile, the Producers’ Council has called for an emergency meeting of its office bearers late this evening to discuss the issue and hold discussions with the workers’ representatives. The Council may invite the Federation leaders for discussions tomorrow.
