Are Bollywood directors obsessed with fair skin women who cast top models from foreign countries such as Giselli Monteiro, Barbara Mori, Amy Jackson? Yes, says Rock On director Abhishek Kapoor. He has tweeted that B-Town directors are getting obsessed with white girls that in turn is damaging country actresses.
In his tweet, Abhishek Kapoor says: “Our obsession with white girls playing lead in Indian films is extremely detrimental to the psyche of the Indian girl. As bad as selling fairness cream." He has also added that Indian actresses are being sidelined due to foreign invasion. He has appealed to the film directors in India to recognize the desi beauty.
Abhishek Kapoor, who shot into fame, after the release of Rock On movie is currently working on a story that’s being adapted from writer Chetan Bhagat’s Three Mistakes of My Life. Abhishek, who said he was disturbed Caucasian invasion said he had no problem if Caucasian actress plays Caucasian role but showing her as Punjabi woman is deluding the audience. Lets see if Abhishek’s appeal will have an impact on Indian directors or not.
