Vidya Balan sneaked onto the streets of Varanasi setting out on a shopping spree while she was there for some brand endorsement last week. However to avoid garnering attention on the street she has turned on her incognito mode as she blended into the crowd seamlessly.

The actress had felt the vibes of the town and had a craving for the extremely popular Banarsi paan which had become famous over the world after the song Kaike Paan Banaras wala in the movie Don, both Amitabh Bachchan's version and SRK's too. She had set out hunting for the Banaras Silk sarees that are famous worldwide. She has espoused the security around her in her adventure around the city

The actress who was in Varanasi last week for a brand endorsement had a sudden urge to eat the famous paan and buy some Banarasi saris while at it. Given the heavy security around her, Vidya Balan thought of a simple plan to go incognito in her little adventure. With one staff member she had taken a cycle rickshaw rejecting to go in a car that she was offered and toured all the local markets after managing to fool the crowd in the town.

She wore a dupatta covering her face, duping the locals with her traditional look. Her friend added: "She took one of her staff members along on her secret trip from her five star hotel. She not only shopped but also managed to eat a paan without being recognised."
