Kishore Kumar, often described as the unparalleled singer of the Bollywood and also a great actor had inspired Anurag Basu greatly which has pushed him as far as starting a biopic which is both "colourful and entertaining" based on him with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.

"Ranbir, UTV and I, all three of us are committed to make this film. Ranbir is busy, he is doing two films in between. After Barfi, Ranbir and I will come together again for this movie," Basu told the media.

Anurag Basu said that the responsibility of penning such a film, a film that the world would look up to since it was the story of the Legend, Kishore Kumar, is beyond imaginable. He said that he had to be convinced himself first before jumping into directing the movie.

Talking about the film he said, "The film will have madness of Kishore da. I am lucky that this came to me, UTV was planning this movie, Shomit had written a script. I am a big fan of him. I think he was the most colorful person, so full of life. That's why we thought of making a biopic on his life. It will be a very entertaining film”. He also said that Barfi star, Ranbir Kapoor had immediately accepted the proposal when he was consented to play the role.

“Ranbir Kapoor will have to change his look to get into the boots of the stalwart singer."We did some look test of young Kishore Kumarji on him (Ranbir). We have gone through several such processes before zeroing in on him to play Kishoreda on screen," Anurag Basu said.

The film with bring the life of the extremely succesful singer and comic star, Kishore Kumar on to the screen for the very first time. Nostalgic memories are in store and would attack the fans very soon.

Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar has been helping Anurag to fillin several gaps in the life that people didn't know about their favorite singer. The family has also been supporting them with several secrets that were hitherto unknown to the world.

It has been speculated that Katrina Kaif might be signed to play Madhubala in the film but it was not decided yet.

"We have not thought of anyone as a leading lady yet. As of now only the three of us (Anurag Basu, UTV and Ranbir) are final," he said
