Actress Namitha, who once made it to top in south films, is now planning to retire from reel world to enter political arena. If buzz is to believed, Namitha would join BJP in Tamil Nadu soon. Notably, Namitha has been appearing in many television soups in Tamil Nadu after she stopped acting in mainstream cinema due to lack of chances.

With television soups, Namitha became a popular personality even among households. Probably that could be the reason why BJP in Tamil Nadu apparently offered star status to Namitha in Tamil Nadu. The reports also indicated that Namitha knows Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and it was apparently Mr Modi who asked her to join politics. In a state like Tamil Nadu winning assembly elections would be something like a tough nut to crack for national level political parties.
