What it's called as good news to film producers and distributors has apparently become a bad news to movie lovers. The movie ticket prices would be doubled in 2013. Currently the price is  somewhere around Rs. 55 for a balcony ticket. The sources said that movie tickets might shot up to Rs. 100.  The seven member committee constituted by the government to look into the considerations of hiking movie ticket prices.

Sources said that the state government was in a thought to make flexible prices, which means the prices would be hiked on weekends. For instance, a ticket cost would be three to four times more than it's actual costs in the weekends. The critics said in case ticket prices are hiked, then normal theatres would not be considered for watching movies as people have already started prefering multiplexes to conventional single screen theatres.
