Reacting on the negative comments and reports that Mani Ratnam's Kadali movie, established actor Aravinda Swamy, who played a lead role in Kadali film said that this film was something that no one else other than Mani Ratnam would have dared to attempted. He has also mentioned that the movie was not a conventional one and hailed the work of Mani Ratnam. Further, Aravinda Swamy has urged people to ignore comments on the new media besides online reviews.

It may be noted that Mani Ratnam's Kadali movie basically revolved between the one who believes in God and the one who believes in Satan with emphasis on what Christianity teaches. Aravinda Swamy played the role of a church father. While many people expected Kadali to be a complete romantic classic, the love track in the movie was disappointing as it didn't take centre stage. And the result—Kadali received a flop talk.
