Actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan will lead the Indian delegation at the 67th Cannes Film Festival which will begin from today. Kamal who is the chairman of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry [FICCI], Media and Entertainment Committee-South will lead Indian delegation at the Indian pavilion.
FICCI will be co-ordinating with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at this film festival. At Cannes, Indian pavilion will showcase Indian Cinema across linguistic, cultural and regional diversity. The aim of this showcase is also to increase partnership in film-making such as distribution, production, filming in India, script development and technology, and promoting film sales.
Kamal in a statement said, “I am delighted to have this opportunity to also speak about the development of the southern industry, which has been a special focus of mine for the last five years.”
