Director Shankar's 'I' finally hit the theatres for the Pongal but the movie met with mixed reviews. Despite the response, 'I' is ruling the box office with massive collections like never before. Coming to the collections of the Telugu version, 'I' has minted Rs 19 crores share in the first two days. Popular production house, Super Good Films banner has bought the Telugu rights and released the film in maximum theatres.

In Nizam area, 'I' collected Rs 4 crores and 25 lakhs in first two days while in Ceded and Guntur regions, the collections were Rs 2 crores, 80 lakhs and Rs 1 crore 18 lakhs respectively. In overseas, Karnataka and North India, 'I' collections stood at Rs 6 crores.

However, these figures are not encouraging for a Rs 175 crores budget flick. 'I' has Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead roles while AR Rahman rendered music.
