The major entertainment business in India, STAR has acquired stake in popular Telugu channel, MAA TV for an undisclosed amount. The official announcement was made this morning in the presence of MAA TV representatives Nimmagadda Prasad, actor Nagarjuna and the officials of STAR India. According to the sources, MAA TV might undergo a slight change in its label, however, STAR India said there won't be any changes in the other departments like the staff.

This is a huge surprise to the television industry and STAR India promised a better quality of content in future. With this deal, MAA TV gets the cult status of corporate and also the benefit of cash reserves. MAA TV is one of the leading channels in Telugu and shows like 'Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu' is one of the biggest programs of it which registers maximum TRPs and under its wing, MAA operates Music and round the clock movies channels too.
