The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has announced Baahubali movie, as the official entry from the Telugu film industry, for India's Oscar shortlist.
Yes why not? Baahubali, the pride of India, has every eligibility to go to Oscars from India, this year. The movie already crossed 50 days in all the major theaters with a whopping Rs.600 crores of collection. As of now, Baahubali took the Telugu cinema standards to the next level.
With this confidence, the film is selected to send to the Oscars. The official confirmation regarding this will be made on September 25, after veteran actor Amol Palekar, who heads the five Oscar selection panel, studies over 45 films in Hyderabad and finally give his verdict, about the eligible movies to Oscars.
If Baahubali is opted, then it is the first movie after 29 years, which is being sent to Oscars. The last movie was Kamal Haasan’s Swathimuthyam.
Nominating to Oscar is another additional recognition to Baahubali. But not getting nominated does not make it less qualify, as it just one man, Amol Palekar, who is going to judge the movie, but already a millions of people, across the country, lifted the movie onto their shoulders and made the industry proud.
Currently, Rajamouli is finalizing Baahubali 2 script and calls the artists onto the shoot in the next month. The first part left many commas and the second part is going to clear all those. So an ardent film lover, who watched Baahubali, will obviously run for Baahubali 2 too. So hope the second part makes more wonders and Baahubali remains as an immovable mountain in the Telugu cinema history.
