It’s a known fact that film industry is dominated by few families. People in the industry are mostly divided in to any of those camps. For example, most of an actor’s films are produced by one or two producers.
Similarly, we see directors making films mostly for actors of a certain family or their allies. Two rival families in terms of movies are Mega Camp and Nandamuri Camp. They’ve always competed with their movies and tried to dominate one another. There are many directors who have been ardent followers of the yester year’s heroes of the family and have turned in to their camps, made movies mostly in their camps.
Lately, there has been a change in behavior in these camp reserved directors. Seems like they are slowly moving to the other camps and trying to make movies. YVS Chowdary who has been making movies with only Nandamuri clan mostly, for the first time he tried his hand in Mega camp by launching Sai Dharam Tej through his film ‘Rey’ and everyone knows the result of it. Harish Shankar who has on a high after Gabbar Singh and a diehard fan of Mega family has tried is hand with ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’ with Tarak and the movie was dud at box office. Now he is back with Mega family with ‘Subramanyam for sale’.
Now we see another Nandamuri devotee, Boyapati Srinu switching camps and making a film with Bunny. We need to wait and watch how the result is going to be since historically the results have not been fruitful except for the likes of Rajamouli and Vinayak.
