Naseeruddin Shah says that he is being made conscious of his Muslim identity.
It is known that in the past, Naseeruddin Shah attended the book launch of former Pakistani foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, and spoke a few words, which went viral in the media.
His comments were trolled on the social networking sites, treating it as a hate speech. Now Shah responded on the issue in an interview saying, “Only because of my name (Muslim), I was pointed out and trolled, if my name was anything else, I bet this would not have been this severe.”
“Why does a few positive words about Pakistan, turn me as the anti-Indian? I am being made conscious of my Muslim identity, I am a proud Indian”, Shah said.
Not just Naseeruddin Shah, many Muslims in the country are facing the similar issues, only because of their religion. Even top celebrities are not an exception for this disturbance.
In the past, Shah Rukh Khan was stopped from flying out the country, at the airport several times, only because of his Muslim identity.
More than Muslims, Hindus or anything else, it is the Indians, that sound better. So it would be better, if the Indians are aware of that fact, and do not allow any hate speeches or hate videos created by some idiots, to disturb our unity. We are born as Indians and will be dying as Indians. Proud to be an Indian.
