Not only Dictator, all movies suffered - Sriwass

Dictator movie director Sriwass spoke about the four films released for Sankranthi season.

No matter, how good the film is, there is always an influence from the other good film, which is releasing in the same season. This year Sankranthi proved the same.

Nannaku Prematho, Dictator, Express Raja, Soggade Chinni Nayana are the four movies released on Sankranthi and to the fortunate all the four received the positive buzz. But the thing is, all four movies had to compromise on the number of screens release and so the collections are not up to the expected level.

Sriwass, who even released his Dictator movie for Sankranthi, spoke on the same saying, even though all four received positive feedback, they could not reach their full potential due to four movies releasing at once.

The director further opined that, Sankranthi can handle up to two movies, as the majority of the audience would watch only two movies per season. “If there are more number of screens, all the four films, would have reached, more number of audience,” Sriwass said.

Last year, there was good understanding between the big films and released every big film, with a good gap from the other film. Movies like Srimanthudu, Baahubali, Rudramadevi came under the safe zone, following the same formula.

But this year, it seems, the makers are losing that formula and are releasing all the films at once. Fortunately, no big movie faced bad fortune in 2016.

Hope the makers would not take any chance and follow the previous year’s formula and move forward with the good successes.
