Kalabhavan Mani, a popular Malayalam actor and folk singer Kalabhavan Mani passed away at a hospital in Kochi, last night.
Kalabhavan Mani, 45, left his breath, after he had been hospitalized for liver ailment.
Tweeting upon the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “A promising career is cut short. Kalabhavan Mani was multifaceted & popular. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family & fans.”
In 2000, Mani had bagged national special jury award for his performance in Malayalam film Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum.
Mani even entertained Telugu audience, through his identical roles in Gemini, Aayudham movies etc. It is not exaggeration, if I say more than hero roles, it is Mani’s role that stood as highlight in those films.
Mani hailed from an economically backward family at Chalakkudy in Thrissur district. He started his career as mimicry artiste at Kalabhavan in Kochi and then did comedy roles in Malayalam films. He was identified for his peculiar mannerisms, which are even tough to imitate for any other.
Andhrawishesh.com expresses condolences to the versatile actor Kalabhavan Mani’s family and fans.
