In the recent times, Puri Jagannath is always in the news for involving in the back to back controversies.
The rift between Puri and Loafer movie distributors is turning uglier day by day and currently the fast track director, has countered on the ongoing issue, in his style.
Loafer movie under Puri Jagannath’s direction, was allegedly a huge disaster, leaving the distributors in severe losses.
The distributors named Abhishek Nama, Kali Sudheer and Mutyala Ramdas held few press meets and said that, they are not demanding the money back, but it is the minimum courtesy of a maker to give back the money, when their films could not do well at the box office.
The distributors allegedly manhandled Puri and also threatened his family members and regarding this, the director filed case against them.
Puri Jagannath, now countering the distributors said that, there is no truth in distributors saying that, they bought Loafer Nizam rights for Rs. 7.5 crores. The rights are actually sold for Rs. 3.4 crores only, and also added that, even producer C Kalyan can be consulted for the clarification.
Not stopping there, Puri further reveals that, Abhishek and Sudheer met him before Loafer's release and offered him a 5 film deal. Even Mutyala Ramdas requested Puri to direct a film under his production.
“However, I realized only later that these three distributors tried to trap him into their debts in the name of deals, thereby making me responsible for their losses,” said Puri.
Puri further added that, they hailed him as a distributors' director in a press meet before Loafer's release.
Why is Puri revealing the distribution rights cost, delaying it all these days, is the question, that is haunting many now.
