Rape has become very common nowadays. No women, no girl is safe and reacting to this actress Meera Jasmine said that all those commits this heinous crime should be given the punishment of Castration.

Meera Jasmine addressed a press meet in Kochi. There she was accompanied by the mother of a Dalit woman. Her daughter was raped and murdered at Perumbavoor in Kerala recently.

"Such sex maniacs attacking should be given painful punishments and castration is the only way. If these sexual abusers aren't given painful punishment, they will never understand the pain of women," she said.

The actress added that "existing laws were not harsh enough to stop rapists from preying upon women in the country."

Meera Jasmin is a  Malayalam actress who has organised this press conference. This event was part of a promotion for her forthcoming Malayalam film "Pathu Kalpanakal", which is based on rape victims.

Meera Jasmine has also acted in many Telugu films like 'Gudumba Shankar', 'Bhadra', 'Pandem Kodi' etc.
