Tamil 'superstar' Rajinikanth has asked his fans not to celebrate his birthday which is on December 12 in view of the death of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
Rajinikanth "requests his fans not to celebrate his birthday and avoid keeping banners and posters," his publicist said in a tweet.
When contacted, the publicist said, "the decision not to celebrate the birthday was taken in view of the demise of Jayalalithaa."
The 'Kabali' star will turn 66 on December 12. On his birthday his fansĀ celebrated in a grand manner.
Last year also, the actor did not celebrate his birthday because of heavy floods in Chennai and neighboring districts.
Tamil Nadu's Ex- Chief Miniter Jayalalithaa got hospitalized on September 22, and suffered a cardiac arrest on December 4. She was on life support system and passed away on Dec 5th.
The AIADMK government also announced a seven-day State Mourning from December 16.
