Veteran actress of Marathi and Hindi film industry, Reema Lagoo breathed her last yesterday night after suffering from a cardiac arrest.
Reema (59) complained of chest pain and was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani hospital in Andheri, Mumbai where she breathed her last. Reema’s body is in Kokilaben hospital now and will be taken to her residence after 10 am. The last rites of the actress will take place at Oshiwara crematorium.
The actress was famous for essaying roles of moms in both movies and television. The senior actress started her career in the late 1970s and early 80s, and was a popular face both in Marathi and Hindi films. She was best known for playing the on-screen mother to protagonists in hit films like “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “Hum Saath-Saath Hain”. Reema Lagoo also did notable work in television in popular shows like “Tu Tu Main Main” and “Shriman Shrimati”. She was last seen in TV show of star plus Naamkaran.
She played the mother’s role opposite some of the biggest stars in the industry like Salman Khan (Maine Pyar Kiya), Akshay Kumar (Jai Kishan), Sridevi (Gumrah), Madhuri Dixit (Hum Aapke Hain Koun) and Shah Rukh Khan (Kal Ho Naa Ho).
She is a winner of four Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actress.
