All of a sudden, Bhanu Kiran, the suspected killer of faction leader Maddelacheruvu Suri, is in the news again.

Suri, who has gone underground and remained untraceable to the police teams after the murder of Suri, has reportedly telephoned the Hyderabad police officials this morning and offered to surrender, according to some Telugu TV channels.

Police have already sent special police teams to Tirupathi and surrounding areas as his telephone call was traced to Tirupathi. Bhanu is said to have offered to surrender to the police in any place in Rayalaseema.

Despite telecast of stories by some channels whole day today on the reported offer of Bhanu to surrender, Central Crime Station DCP J. Satyanarayana denied the news and said the reports are the creation of a section of the media. “There is no truth in the reports but we will soon arrest him,” he said.

There are also reports that police have already taken into custody a person in Tirupathi who has provided shelter to Bhanu.
