Huma Qureshi To Play Tamil Superstar’s Love Interest In Next Flick?

Gangs of Wasseypur actress Huma Qureshi has been cast opposite Tamil Super Star Rajinikanth in a yet-to-be-titled film.

The makers were earlier in talks with Vidya Balan for this role, but following Vidya’s last-minute exit from the project, they have now chosen Huma for this role.

Huma will be playing the 66-year-old superstar’s love interest in the film. The film will be produced by actor Dhanush under his home production Wunderbar Films.

A source confirmed saying, “Yes, Huma has been signed for this film. She will start shooting for this film from May 28.”
The shoot of the film, which is rumored to be in the gangster genre, will begin on May 28 in Mumbai. A grand set has been erected for the film there. Last Sunday, on May 14, Rajinikanth had participated in a photo shoot for the film.

“The makers were keen on casting Huma in the romantic lead opposite megastar Rajinikanth as she fits the requirements of the role,” says sources.

The film, to be directed by P A Ranjith, is scheduled to go on floors by the end of this month here.

Earlier, actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha and Radhika Apte have worked opposite Rajinikanth.

Huma was last seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Jolly LLB 2, and Huma’s next is Gurinder Chadha’s Viceroy’s House, and Dobaara: See Your Evil, with brother Saqib Saleem, which is an official adaptation of the Hollywood horror film, Oculus (2013).
