NageshKukunoor, a director, who makes his films talk, has made another film titled ‘Mod’. The trailers of the film have made this flick look like a pakkaNageshKukunoor kind of a film. Will the film turn out to be a entertainer or not? Let’s know;

Story:

Mod is a love story between - Andy (Rannvijay Singh) and Annaya (Ayesha TakiaAzmi). Happy go lucky girl Fun-loving girl Annaya runs a watch repair shop and is satisfied the way her life is moving along with her father Ashok (RaghuveerYadav) and auntyGayatri (TanviAzmi), then Andy enters her life. Andy visits her shop to get his watch fixed. This after some time becomes a regular affair as that’s the only way he can meet her again. These meetings soon turn to a crush and then love, and then Andy introduces himself to her as her former class-mate. Then Annaya discovers through her school security guy that Andy had met with an accident ten years ago and passed away. What happens next? To know watch the film on silver screen.

Performance:

Rannvijay Singh has given an extra ordinary performance performing the excellent change over from Andy to anAbhay. He is a comparatively new comer in acting. But the way he enacted his role with ease is extra ordinary. It is good to see that Ayesha has transformed herself as a complete actress living up to the expectations of the character. RaghuveerYadav as a Kishore Kumar fan is completely natural. TanviAzmi is brilliant and did justice to her character. AnantMahadevan and Nikhil Ratnaparkhi play their roles well. The director of the film, NageshKukunoor, this time has chosen a romantic subject to direct to and has did his best. Mod talks about one to leave the bad memories.It is the screenplay and the direction of NageshKukunoor that turned out to be very interesting. Overall, the film is a worth watching.

Analysis:

Music is the biggest negative to the film. Cinematography is up to the mark. Dialogues definitely complement the natural situations and make us think in some situations. Editing, if crisp, could have helped the screenplay that is otherwise a bit dragging. But, certain sequences in the film like it taking a too long time to introduce each and every character is a bit dragging and you need to be patient enough to watch the same. Post interval, as the story unfolds with hard to predict twists, things fall in place for Mod. The character of Andy (who actually turns out isAbhay) is portrayed in a manner worth an appreciation. The climax could've been much more interesting as the lack of crisp screen play makes it very dragging and the audience might have been exhausted by that time. Final Word:

‘Mod’ a director’s film!
