Story
Lucky [Allu Arjun] is a jobless guy who aspires to go to US and waits for Visa. Lucky's brother Ram [Kick Shyam] is a police officer and carries the entire family responsibility. Lucky and Ram will never be in good terms and quarrel for every small reason.
One day Lucky sees Spandana [Shruti Haasan] and falls in love with her. On a night, Ram spots Lucky with Spandana and warns them not to roam late hours. Irked by brother's arrogance, Lucky hijacks Ram's official vehicle and on the parallel side a politician Shiva Reddy [Ravi Kishan] sends his men to kill Ram. Lucky meets with an accident but manages to escape and then realizes that what if his brother would have been in his place?
The rest of the story is how Lucky fights with Shiva Reddy.
Analysis :
The main plot of the film is very engaging but a tighter screenplay would have been much better. Coming to the story, Surender Reddy should be credited for handling a tough subject and we can say that he did justice to his job. Brother sentiment is good and though songs are not that catchy, they are filmed beautifully. Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa is top class and as we said, editing should have been more crispy.
Performance :
Allu Arjun carried the entire film on this shoulders. He lived upto the expectations and improvement in his acting can be spotted. His comedy timing is outstanding and he looks striking in the police dress. But Bunny disappointed with his dance as they are not upto his level. Shruti Haasan is only confined to songs and showed her skin.
Shyam did a decent role. Brahamanandam provided ample of entertainment as Chulbul Pandey. Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan who made his debut impressed as baddie while Prakash Raj as Mr. Bean Prakash is wasted and Posani provides few laughs.
Final Word: Race Gurram is like a one time Race and preferred once.
