Jailer Story
Superstar Rajinikanth and director Nelson came up with a new age film with multifolded masala to entertain the audience with Jailer. Let us take a look at the complete review.
Story: A retired Jailer, Muthuvel Pandian aka Muthu goes in search of his son’s murderer, who is a sincere police officer. Arjun gets in a fight with antique pieces and idols of God smuggler. Arjun goes missing one day when Muthu starts his hunt for his son. What Muthu came to know in his way of the investigation and how he cleared the ruckus is the complete story.
Jailer Analysis
Rajinikanth has shown his elevation as a grandfather who makes videos the entire day, goes to buy vegetables and helps with routine house chores. Muthuvel’s makeover after his son's death is a surprise and a feast for Rajinikanth’s fans. After the first 40 minutes, the movie catches up with the story and Nelson’s signature style of presence gets a gripping pre-interval block.
Yogi Babu and Rajinikanth’s fun makes the first half more entertaining. The second half is filled with mass sequences. But with some dragging scenes in the second half, Nelson manages to deliver the best film when compared to Rajinikanth’s recent releases. A few scenes lack logic and the climax is very disappointing.
Performance
Anirudh Ravichander, the man behind the screen, once again proves his magic for Jailer. The background score was extremely wonderful. Nelson Dilipkumar is okay, but elevated and projected Rajinikanth superbly. Nelson might have worked more on the second half, which has many logicless scenes. Tamannaah Bhatia is okay, don’t add much excitement. Sunil's characterisation is weak. Yogi Babu is good as usual with perfect comedy timing. Ramya Krishnan and the other actors are okay.
Positives :
Anirudh Ravichander
Rajinikanth
Negatives :
Second Half
Climax
Logicless scenes
Jailer Final Word
Worth watching for Rajinikanth. He was superbly presented. Jailer fails in many aspects, but to feel the music of Anirudh and see the stunning performance of Rajinikanth, just go watch it.
