Geethanjali Malli Vachindi Analysis

Geethanjali Malli Vachindi Movie Review, Rating, Story, Cast & Crew

Creating a successful horror comedy is a skill that not everyone possesses, as we have witnessed the recent failures in this genre. Geethanjali Malli Vachindi falls into the same category and attempts to serve as a sequel to the successful film Geethanjali from ten years ago. However, it disappoints in terms of its storyline, narrative, and comedic elements. The movie tries to capitalize on its status as a sequel, but falls short in every aspect. It claims to be a horror comedy, but the comedy is awkward and the horror is terrible. Geethanjali Malli Vachindi continues the theme of revenge from the first film, but lacks any substantial plot. Despite having four comedians as the main characters, and the addition of Sunil in the second half, none of them are able to generate any fun. From the ghost characters with untamed hair and blue faces, to the repetitive horror sound effects, and the cliched haunted mansion, Geethanjali Malli Vachindi is cringe-inducing throughout. Furthermore, the film also bears similarities to outdated horror dramas like Chandramukhi, which adds to its unoriginality.

The director of this film still holds onto his belief in it, despite it being a thing of the past. The possessed doll and the parallel drama involving Ali are incredibly tedious. While there were a few moments where Sunil and Sathya's dialogue and expressions worked, they were far from their best. The attempt to provide entertainment through parody comedy from a cine journalist is completely unappealing. The predictable climax gives off the impression that it was hastily thrown together. The visual effects are subpar. With such a thin storyline, the director should have at least included some well-written comedy. Unfortunately, Geethanjali Malli Vachindi is a dull and uneventful experience from beginning to end. It lacks both horror and humor.

Performance

Anjali's 50th film, Geethanjali Malli Vachindi, does not give much prominence to her role. However, she performs well in her part. Srinivas Reddy directs the film skillfully. At times, the one liners of Satyam Rajesh and Shakalaka Shankar are quite good. Satya's portrayal of a young aspiring actor is one of the major highlights of the film. His performance in the role is simply hilarious. After a long gap, Sunil gets an entertaining role and he executes it perfectly. Ravi Shankar's performance is average and Rahul Yadav's performance is decent.

In terms of technical aspects, the film is fairly average. The songs are below par and the background score fails to leave an impact. The cinematography work is decent. Geethanjali Malli Vachindi is shot in some beautiful locations in Ooty, and the setting of Sangeet Mahal is also decent. However, the dialogues do not meet expectations.

Geethanjali Malli Vachindi Final Word

Geethanjali Malli Vachindi is a disappointing sequel as the film offers nothing except some entertaining episodes. Can be given a skip.
