Prathinidhi 2 Analysis
The purpose of Prathinidhi 2 is to question the system and address the problem of corruption, which undermines public trust in the democratic system of the state. Nara Rohit, who appeared as a common man in Pratiniti, is currently playing the role of the fourth pillar of democracy (journalist) in Pratiniti 2. If you're expecting this movie to have a specific agenda or target a specific political party, you're wrong. Murthy, the renowned journalist and director, brings all his ideas to life in this story. But the script of Prathinidhi 2 is not so impressive. In this political-commercial confusion, the usual intermingling of elements still appears. From hate speech against political representatives, mining scandals, embezzlement of public funds, covert operations, abuse of power and fake investigations, the film dramatizes how people perceive reality.
You may notice that Prathinidhi 2 has traces of old movies like Cameraman Ganga Do Rambabu, Prasthanam and Sarkar. The scenes of the finance minister losing his temper in front of the press, the special investigation officers investigating the murder case and the troubles of the farmers in Raithu Bazar are the most striking aspects of the story, but they are quite funny on screen. Such images often increase awareness of the electoral process, stimulate dialogue about the rights and responsibilities of citizens in a democratic system, and encourage voter participation. But MP 2 was far from touching it. It would have been better if director Murthy had stuck to the reality of the system and not preached about it. Films on themes such as grassroots activism and social mobilization were screened, but Rep 2 could not cope with the election fever.
Performance
Nara Rohit returns to Tollywood after a long break. Although he didn't get much opportunity to deliver monologues compared to her role in Pratinidhi, his on-screen presence had a significant impact on this anti-YSRCP story. Sachin Khedkar has had a positive influence in his role as Prime Minister Prajapati. Jishu Sengupta also adds depth to his character. Ajay Ghosh, who plays a political analyst, was completely absent and made no impression. Uday Bhanu also has nothing to brag about in the film.
Nani Chamidi Sethi's visual and camera work is very good. The music composed by Mahati Swara Sagar is rather gentle and you don't really feel like you are watching a political thriller. Director Murthy had nothing to explore but tried to weave a story around power politics, democracy and people.
Prathinidhi 2 Final Word
Prathinidhi 2 is pale, poor and boring political drama. It can be given a skip.
