In what has shocked everyone, ANR has called for a press meet today to make a sad announcement. He revealed that he is suffering from cancer in the stomach. When he suddenly reached out to the press last night, it was speculated that it may have something to do with Manam film. But, reality turned out to be something deeper.

ANR has earned a lot of respect for being an upfront and candid person, both personally and professionally. In a similar vein, he wanted to share true facts about his condition before everyone jumps to conclusion about his health. ANR sounded wise when he tried to reduce the big impact of the news by saying he lived a full life without any regrets.

Having recently celebrated his 90th birthday amid great fanfare, no one would have imagined the veteran actor to be in such physical pain. ANR expressed that he had been experiencing severe stomach pain. A recent medical check up brought out the actual reason for the pain as cancer.

In recent days, ANR's son Nagarjuna was seen at public appearances looking drawn and tired. It was imagined that he was simply upset that his Bhai film did not get the big function that fans wanted. Though he was a little disappointed with that, it was hard to guess the turmoil in his heart.

ANR and Nagarjuna are currently shooting for Manam, the exciting multistarrer under their Annapurna Studios banner. Work on Manam is expected to complete this December. It is with heavy hearts that his admirers will receive his 'youthful' gift. ANR is defying his years in the film, setting old age aside.
