Bikini? Bring it on...

Priyamani is one actress who knows how to be in news. Be it her film offers or her sexy on screen image, actress Priyamani always manages to make headlines. And when there’s nothing about her films, it’s the rumours surrounding her personal life that make news.

The girl truly knows how to get the arc lights shining on her all the time.

I am not married..

The latest dope on the beautiful Priyamani is the reports claiming that she had married her Tollywood co-star Tarun. But Priyamani has denied it all and said, “Some jobless persons are involved in spreading such rumours,” Priyamani lashed out.

“I last met Tarun three years back when we did a movie together. I have not in touch with him. I don’t even know what he is currently doing,” says the actress, playing down reports appeared in a section of the media on her wedding.

‘I’m happy people are recognising now...’

Though Priyamani has done many good films in her career, it’s only now that she has got her due from the audience and filmmakers. “It’s taken me five years to get here. It’s only after Paruthi Veeran that people started noticing my acting skills. But I’m happy I found fame after much struggle rather than becoming a superstar in my first film,” explains the actress.

Bikini? Bring it on...

Priyamani became a sensation when pictures of her in a bikini in the movie Drona went on air. “I wore the bikini in Drona for fun. Besides, after Nayantara in Billa, there was this notion that no other actress would be willing to wear a bikini. But my director felt I’d look good in it. I too was convinced and felt wearing a bikini would be a change from my usual image. It drew its share of reviews — both good and not-so-good ones. I also haven’t got any new offers to wear a bikini,” says a candid Priya.

Confident and demanding...

Priyamani has also hiked her prices, which has not gone down well with the film fraternity. Some filmmakers are of the opinion that success has gone into Priya’s head and she has become overconfident. But the beautiful lass is proud of what she has achieved and thinks she’s on the right track. “There’s nothing wrong in hiking my price. I’ve delivered three consecutive hits, so I think it’s justified. And tell me which actress doesn’t hike her price these days? And I’m only asking for my market value — pay me my price and I’ll do your film,” she asserts.

Bollywood calling...

Amidst all the rumours and gossips, Priyamani is happy that she got a chance to work with Mani Ratnam. “Working with Mani is like a dream come true for me,” says the actress who will make her Bollywood debut with Mani Ratnam’s Raavan. Priya will play the role of Shurpanakha, Raavan’s (Abhishek Bachchan) sister.

Back home in South, post the success of ‘Ninaithale Inikkum’, Priyamani will soon pair up with Prithviraj again for a Tamil film.

Thirakkatha, a Malayalam movie which had the actor and the actress in lead roles, is being dubbed into Tamil as ‘Kadhal Mudichu’. Directed by Renjith, the movie is a satirical story about film making. Prithviraj plays the role of an aspiring director while Priyamani will play a popular actress.
