For the people who wanted to make a short visit to Malaysia, can now avail the Electronic Travel Authorization Visa (e-visa) services.
Malaysian government has took this initiative, in a bid to tap a larger share of the Indian bound travel.
As of now, only the Indians residing in India are permitted to use this visa, that too for a single journey stay of maximum 30 days in Malaysia, for the tourism purposes.
Malaysian tourism has a significant contribution from India. For instance, 7,22,141 tourists, last year, had visited this country, making it the 6th largest contributor to the tourist arrivals.
“We are always trying to make travel to Malaysia as convenient as it can get and the introduction of e-visa is a major step in that direction. We are confident that with this ease in visa process more and more Indians will now consider Malaysia as a destination of choice for their next holiday,” Mohd. Hafiz, director, Tourism Malaysia, Mumbai said.
With the fee of Rs. 2710, the Malaysia e-visa would be in the hands, that too within 24-48 hours and with 3 months validity.
Indian travelers in the recent times are increasingly getting noticed at the global tourist destinations. This is now making the tourism authorities across the world, eye on the Indians.
As per the industry estimates, India’s outbound travel is growing 15-20% every year and by 2020, around 50 million tourists can be spotted traveling to the overseas.
