US Cops May Have Found Body Of Missing 3-Yr-Old Girl?:- The body of a girl child had been discovered by the US police, who expressed apprehension that it was “most likely” of the three-year-old Indian girl, Sherin Mathews.

The little girl went missing for last two weeks, when her foster father reportedly sent her outside alone late in the night as punishment for not finishing her milk. Sherin was last seen outside her family’s backyard in Richardson, Dallas on October 7. The toddler had developmental issues and limited verbal communication skills.

On Sunday, an announcement was made by the Richardson police that the remains of a child in a tunnel beneath a road were discovered by them. However, they did not confirm the identity. The body was discovered about half a mile from Mathews house. An area near Spring Valley and Bowser roads, east of Central Expressway was blocked off by the officers, as part of their search operation.

At around 11 am, the body was found in a culvert beneath a road, with the help of search dogs. Any details about how the child died, were not released by the police. However, they indicated they had no reason to believe that the body of a different child had been found. The identification process was underway. The medical examiner was working to ascertain the cause of death.

Wesley Mathews (37), the foster father of Sherin, was arrested on charge of abandoning or endangering a child. After posting USD 250,000 bond, he was released from custody, a day later. Mathews, as per an arrest-warrant affidavit, told police that he put Sherin outside and told her to stand next to a large tree at around 3 am on Saturday (October 7). Mathews originally hailed from Kerala. The affidavit said, Mathews admitted to police that he knew coyotes had been seen in the alley. Mathews allegedly went to check on Sherin, some 15 minutes later, but did not find her.

He said he then went inside to do laundry, after looking around for her, and decided to wait until morning to continue searching or for her to return on her own, police Sergeant Kevin Perlich said. Until about five hours later, the police were not alerted to her disappearance.

The girl, was reportedly adopted from an Indian orphanage, by the Mathewses two years ago.
