Indian Origin Woman Sentenced for Smuggling Illegal Immigration:- An Indian-origin woman has been sentenced three years imprisonment and fined 7 million USD for smuggling hundreds of undocumented people for the country mostly from India. The exchange fee ranged from 28000 USD to 60000 USD. Hema Patel, a 51-year-old Indian origin woman pleaded guilty during June last year for her financial gain through the process. She was also ordered to forfeit her Texas residence.

Two hotels, 7.2 million USD in bail bonds and 400,000 USD in cash along with 11 gold bars have been seized by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. United States Attorney for New York Eastern District Richard Donoghue said that Patel arranged and smuggled hundreds of people into USA for her personal gain and she will now pay for her price. Patel prepared fraudulent bond documents on their behalf and brought them into USA.
