UAE to offer Green Visas for Freelancers:- The United Arab Emirates announced several major changes to the visa system. Making several major improvements to the residency system, UAE announced five-year permits that are called as Green visas. These visas will offer flexible grace periods up to six months to stay in the country after the expiration or cancelation of the resident permit. This would be a huge boost for the fields of economy, tourism and educational sectors of UAE as per the media statement. This is great news for Telangana NRIs who are residing in UAE with their families. They can sponsor visas to their unmarried sons and daughters till the age of 25. However, the standard employment visa period is two years and it is unchanged.
The general norm of visitor visas has been changed from 30 to 60 days. Green Visa is offered for skilled employees for five years and the applicants should have a valid employment contract as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Bachelor's degree is the minimum education level and their salary should be 15,000 Dirhams (minimum). Green Visas is also given for freelancers and self-employed individuals. The applicant will have to obtain a freelance permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The annual income for the previous years should not be less than 3,60,000 Dirhams. The applicant should also prove the financial solvency during his or her stay in the country.
