Visa Delays For Indian Students In Canada Continue:- Post-pandemic after the travel restrictions are lifted, there is a huge rush for the international universities by Indian students. There is a huge delay the visas by some of the nations because of this rush. The Federal Ministerial Task Force of Canada that is chaired by the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is focused on reducing the delays in immigration services. They are working hard to reduce the delays for the Indian students for the September intake in Canada. Sean Fraser, the Immigration Minister of Canada announced that they have hired 1250 employees to address the backlog and the rush. They are working hard to improve the online system and process of immigration.

Sean Fraser highlighted how the authorities are working to reduce the backlogs of the applications. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the easing of rules for international students. "As we transition back to pre-pandemic requirements, we are extending distance learning measures to pursue your studies online from outside Canada while remaining eligible for a post-graduation work permit until August 31, 2023" told their official statement. When it comes to Indian students, there is no clarity for the same. The long wait for the visas continues for the Indian students. Some of the students did not receive their study permits yet as the universities will commence classes in early September.

A few universities have extended the joining date by ten days for now. The visa issuing duration was 45 days and some of the Indian students are yet to receive their visas even after 55 days. The students who booked their airline tickets will now have to reschedule as they could not receive the documents. Some of the parents have even submitted the annual tuition fee. The parents are appealing to the Canadian High Commission in Delhi to intervene in the issue and grant visas for their children. Lakhs of Indian students are flying to Canada every year. The delay in issuing the visas turned out to be a huge headache for the students as well as the universities.
