Coronavirus Pandemic: Millions of Indians More in Nutritional Deficiency:- According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, everyone from the four adults and one among the five children are overweight and are suffering from health issues. Almost one-third of these diseases can be controlled through proper diet. As per the reports of the United Nations in 2017, India has over 190.7 million undernourished people. 38.4% of the children under the age of five years are said to be stunted. India has children suffering from undernutrition and malnutrition, stunting, wasting. This is mostly due to the heavy intake of refined foods and carbonated beverages.
The right food habits and the right food plays a crucial role in reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases among the adults. It is everyone's duty to encourage and provide nutritious and balanced food for everyone. One of the experts said that 100 million more Indians are vulnerable to food distress. Women need nutrients right from a particular age as they undergo a lot of hormonal imbalances as their body prepares for menstruation. A recent study as per the Institute of Economic Growth in New Delhi estimated that India could generate public economic returns of 19.35 USD to 22.21 USD. The economic downfall due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is likely to push millions of people more to the nutritional deficiency.
