People throwing tomatoes and eggs at leaders were so far seen in movies. But it has happened in real life. The people were-Palamuru University students and the leader was-YSRC leader Sharmila.

YSR Congress leader Sharmila received eggs and tomatoes during her padayatra- Maro Praja Prasthanam. When Sharmila passed through Palamuru University in Mahabubnagar district on Tuesday, scores of students from the university hurled tomatoes and eggs at Sharmila. The police immediately plunged into action to control sea of students but to no avail. The YSRC leaders, on the other hand, pelted stones at the students to avenge tomato attack.

Students from Palamuru University, who threw tomatoes at Sharmila demanded that YSR Congress party should make a clear stand on Telagnana issue. Some YSR Congres leaders then attempted to pacify the students over the issue and said Jagan already gave a statement on Telangana. The students, however, demanded a clear cut statement on Telangana from YSRC. So far YSRC claimed that it has enough support in Telangana region but this act apparently proves that YSR Congress has to go miles to win the confidence of people in Telangana region.
