MIM reiterates commitment to united AP

mim1Describing the desecration of the statues of the revered Telugu legendary figures on the Tank Bund during the Million March on March 10 as unfortunate, MIM legislature party leader in the assembly Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi declared that his party was committed to the united AP.

“We are committed to the united state and we are opposing the division of the state. I told the same thing to the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram during the last all party meeting on the issue,” Owaisi told journalists in the assembly premises Friday evening. “We have declared our stand several times in the past and there is no going back on it.”

Demanding the central government to declare its stand on the issue of Telangana immediately to avoid repetition of incidents similar to the ones that took place on Tank Bund, Owaisi said the vandalism took place on Tank Bund due to the failure of the government.

“We don’t like Hyderabad being divided and we oppose any type of division of the state,” he repeatedly said when TRS leaders standing by asked for his party’s stance on the issue. He expressed displeasure at the growing tendency of regional hatred in the state.
