IAS lobby jittery, to protest over CBI action

The state IAS Officers’ Association met today in Hyderabad to discuss the CBI investigation against several IAS officials in various scams shaking the state.

The association had reportedly decided to meet CM Kirankumar reddy and lodge strong protest against the CBI action.

The CBI is busy investigating three scams – illegal properties case involving the YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy, APIIC-Emaar land scam involving Koneru Rajendra Prasad and others and the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka Ministers Gali Janardhan reddy.

In the three cases, the CBI has so far named three IAS officers as accused and already arrested two of them. While Y. Srilakshmi was jailed in the illegal mining case, BP Acharya was jailed in the Emaar land scam. The CBI has named as accused the TTD Executive Officer Mr LV Subramanyam in the Emaar case.

Subramanyam is reportedly a sincere and duty minded officer and known for his clean image among the IAS officers. He swore by the feet of the Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala that he had not committed any mistake during his tenure at the APIIC. CBI has named him as an accused in the Emaar case saying he remained silent and non-responsive when illegalities were taking place.

Only on Thursday, CBI grilled former Chief Secretary Ramakantha Reddy for more than 6 hours. The grilling of Ramakantha Reddy has sent shivers down the spine of the IAS lobby forcing them to act.

Apart from former IAS officer Mr KV Rao, who was named as the accused in Emaar scam, the CBI has already grilled some more IAS officers. Dr Manmohan Singh, M.Samuel, B.Syam Babu, Ajay Misra, TS Appa Rao, K.Ratna Prabha, Adityanath Das, Rajiv Ranjan Misra, MGVK Bhanu, Ramanjaneyulu and Devanand are some of the serving IAS officers who are on the hit list of the CBI.

Among those who are retired, Ramakantha Reddy, K. Prabhakar reddy, SV Prasad and Krupanandam are also on the hit list of CBI. No one knows when the CBI sleuths will strike at them and arrest them. (JUBS)
