Rat Dance during Ganesh Puja in Guntur

In a shocking incident, a rat was seen dancing before the idol of Ganesha at Veeralakamma temple of Kakumanu in Guntur district on Tuesday. Yes you read it right!

The Kakumanu locals witnessed this miracle during Puja. They said “we conducted special pujas to Ganesha on Monday night. Suddenly, a rat came to the Ganesha idol and the devotees offered vada pappu and panakam to the rat. After consuming the food, the rat started dancing by lifting its front legs responding to the film songs played from loud speakers. The rat dance was enjoyed by the villagers, which is first of its kind in their village.”

“The rat played its tail and clapped to the tunes with its front legs, which enthralled the public. But as the public tried to catch the rat, it disappeared from the Ganesh pandal making good use of darkness,” they added.

In a another incident, former minister and Telugu Desam leader Dokka Manikya Varaprasad Rao conducted special pujas to Ganesh seeking special category status to AP. Hindu Dharma Raksha Samiti Guntur district president Darsanapu Srinivas organised a special puja programme at Kothapeta in Guntur city on Tuesday.

Mr Manikya Varaprasad Rao worshipped Ganesha and prayed for special category status to the state. He said that swift development of AP would be possible only with SCS. Hence, he prayed for it and further prayed for the change of BJP-led Union government towards SCS to AP.
