Government wants to resume Talks after Farmer's Unions agree to the offer:- On Republic Day, following the violence in the farmers tractor rally in Delhi, the farmers unions are on the backfoot. As per the official sources, that the government wants to resume the talks with the farmers after seeing that its offers are accepted.

There have been talks with the farmers union leaders, with the government’s representatives flagging the differences among them.

A source of government said, “The government has got the upper hand in the negotiation table now. We are pointing out that farmers union leaders who have been engaging in talks with us have lost control over the agitators, and they should use this opportunity as a graceful exit and agree to the offers which the government has made,”.

While the farmers have stick to their demands, the government agreed that to suspend the farm three laws for 18 months and put a joint committee on the laws to discuss in detail. But the farmers did not accepted that offer and continue to protests.

The government sources feels that the farm union leaders who are protesting have lost “moral authority” in the wake of violent protests on Republic Day in Delhi. “The government has already given them (farmer leaders) a better proposal, but they did not accept it. They lost a good opportunity…. They have (now) lost the moral authority. Now, we have to see whether they accept that offer or they come with a counter proposal,” a source said.
