Gold Worth Rs 22.5 Lakh Seized From Two Passengers At Hyderabad Airport

The custom officials at the Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, seized 784 grams gold worth Rs 22.5 lakh from two passengers in separate cases.  

A senior custom offical said, in the first case, a passenger who arrived to Hyderabad from the US via Dubai carried gold weighing 385 grams. While in the second case, another passenger who arrived from Sharjah, carried 399 grams of gold with him.

The official said, based on the specific intelligence, customs officials of the Air Intelligence Unit seized the yellow metal from the two persons, who were carrying it in the form of bracelets (kada).

Both the passengers are being questioned and further investigation is underway.
