20-year old Mumbai based model Poonam Pandey, who offered to strip if India won the cricket world cup 2011and simply did the vanishing act after the Team India brought the cup for the country, told a leading daily today that she had to go underground to save her life as some people threatened her with dire consequences if she went ahead with her offer.

She said that she was also burdened with a court case and was busy planning her steps to come out of the legal troubles that resulted from her offer to bare. Pandey said she applied for permission from the BCCI through her PRO but her request to strip was rejected by the cricket authority.

When the daily told the model that she had just played a publicity trick on people, she denied the allegation and said that she had in fact stripped for a TV channel to express her sincerity. “I got an offer for half a billion rupees for posing nude for cover photo of a magazine but finally I chose not to do it for some reasons,” she said.

She however confirmed that, due to the publicity, she got a film offer and several offers for TV shows also and said she was contemplating to do some of them.

Reacting to reports that her boy friend has deserted her after her offer to strip, she said she is very happy being a single.
