Sex-scandal rocked Swamy Nityananda today told the Bangalore investigators that he had paid Rs.10 Cr to a journalist to see that his sexual escapades with film heroine Ranjitha are not telecast over TV channels.

He told police that the journalist came to him with a lawyer with the CD containing his sexual pastimes with Ranjitha and demanded Rs.25 Cr not to telecast the CD. The tainted Swami later bargained with him for Rs.10 Cr and handed over the amount to him.

“I was blackmailed for Rs.25 Cr by the journalist and he agreed for Rs.10 Cr as a final deal but he took the money and also cheated me by giving the CD to TV channels,” he told investigators.

It may be mentioned Ranjitha also revealed that she got threatening calls by some people demanding money. But Bangalore police are of the view that Swami Nityananda could have contacted them for help when the journalist blackmailed him for money with the CD. “If the Swami is not at fault, he should have complained to us and sought our help,” the police officials said adding that the CD must be a true one.
