The anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has issued a bailable arrest warrant for the arrest of former President Prevaz Musharraf in connection with the assassination of former Premier Benazir Bhutto.
Further, the court ordered Pervaz Musharraf to appear on 19th of February for the hearing of the case, according to Geo TV.
In its charge sheet relating to the murder of Benazir Bhutto, the Federal Investigation Agency(FIA) listed the name of former President Prevaz Musharraf’s among the accused.
Musharraf’s name was included in the list following a statement of former Rawalpindi City Police Chief Saud Aziz who claimed that Musharra hid the information about the plot to kill Bhutto. Also, at the insistence of the former Pakistan President, a change in the security cover for the Pakistan People Party Chief, Benazir was affected. Besides, the blood stains at the site of death were cleared on the orders of Musharaff, alleged Aziz.
Musharraf held the position of Pak Prez for nine years. Presently he lives in London after quitting the office.
